SF1_600WRA is providing civil and structural design support on this Fort Carson, CO Special Forces Range 141 Design/Build (D/B) project. Having completed the special forces range design and provided construction support on 7 ranges at Ft. Carson since 2009, WRA was the preferred range design firm to support the Zieson Construction D/B team on this fast-track project.

The Range 141 improvements included site grading for a 100 meter Special Forces flat range, two 650 feet barrier walls to provide ricochet protection, a 5-bay maintenance garage, and stormwater management system integrated into the surrounding Ft. Carson range complex.

WRA provided the D/B team special range design expertise, and all engineering services for site civil and structural work, including Construction Drawings, Specifications using SpecsIntact software, development of the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), and completion of the Design Analysis.

WRA’s approach for special forces range projects, for both design-bid-build and design-build projects, is to utilize licensed civil engineering professionals that combine project management and technical excellence to be fully engaged in the design process. The WRA designated professionals are essential to coordinating and obtaining the necessary information, quickly analyzing field conditions and associated impacts on the range layouts, and preparing efficiently the complete designs.
