One of WRA's ongoing projects, Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, was presented with an Award of Excellence by the Florida chapter of the American Planning Association, during its 2013 convention two weekends ago in Orlando. It was honored in the group's project planning category.In making its award to the park, the planning association also cited the venue's intrinsic value by stating.  "The park's events bring in economic, quality of life and health benefits that far exceed the financial investments," said the APA in presenting the award.This is not the first, nor will it be the last award presented to Nathan Benderson Park. It is built to international standards and may very well be the most renowned rowing facility in this hemisphere.
