Employee Spotlight: John O'Meara, Senior Project Designer

Our employee spotlight this month is John O’Meara, a Senior Project Designer with WRA. Mr. O’Meara has over 15 year of CAD design experience, and joined the WRA team in 2013. Along with his work at WRA, John makes amazing beer at home, and is actively involved in the beer brewing community  as a certified beer judge.
 
What is your role WRA?
Project designer and coordinator. While a member of the design and production team, I also work closely with clients, agencies, and contracts on many projects.
 
Where did you attend school?
Hillsborough Community College
Before working at WRA, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
Aircraft mechanic in the US Navy. I was a H-60 helicopter/jet engine mechanic. I sailed on the USS Theodore Roosevelt and USS John F. Kennedy aircraft carriers and visited many countries around the world.
How has WRA helped you in your career development?
WRA has given me the tools learn and grow as a member of the team by giving me their trust needed to be successful.
What are 3 words to describe WRA?
Efficient, Talented, Responsive
 
What do you like most about WRA?
Working with the people. Everyone here is very talented but also easy to work with.
What have you gained from working at WRA?
A lot of confidence in my abilities to produce high quality work for our clients.
 
What do you like to do outside of work?
I’m a father of 2 young boys (1 and 3). I’ve been refereeing high school football for over 10 years. I’ve been homebrewing (making beer at home) since 2008 and I’m a certified beer judge.
