Jabil Office and Manufacturing Campus
St. Petersburg, FL
The initial phase of the project included a public / private partnership with the
City of St. Petersburg and Jabil Circuits. WRA project manager and engineer of record, Mark Farrell, envisioned the opportunity to use Jabil’s property to effectively dispose of the City of St. Petersburg’s Lake Maggiore dredge material. The project involved a joint effort between Jabil Circuits, the City of St. Petersburg, and the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD). All parties benefited from the innovative plan to dispose the dredge material underneath an existing isolated wetland system with the understanding that the wetland will be re-built and enhanced after dredge disposal for a net environmental benefit to the area. Jabil gained fill from the excavation for future development opportunities while the City of St. Petersburg in association with the SWFWMD disposed of Lake Maggoire dredge material that had been a problem for the past couple years. WRA successfully designed, permitted, and is currently providing construction management and environmental support for the innovative project. This is an excellent example of the private and public sectors working together to create innovative plans in the area of environmental permitting and regulation. Water Resource Associates has been actively involved in providing full service civil engineering and environmental services for Jabil Circuits, Inc. and Bay Area Building Solutions, Inc. over the past 2 years. WRA is currently providing site civil design for the multi-phase, 100 acre mixed-use development known as Jabil Office and Manufacturing Campus located in St. Petersburg, FL.
