Jessica DeCastro
Environmental Scientist

Jessica DeCastro is a Staff Environmental Scientist with three years of experience in environmental permitting, wetland delineation, and endangered species surveys. Her work has taken her across Florida, where she has contributed to a variety of high-profile projects, including the permitting of the Tortoise Camp LLC Gopher Tortoise Recipient Site and environmental assessments for FDOT projects. Jessica’s attention to detail and dedication to protecting Florida's unique ecosystems are key aspects of her work, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations while safeguarding wildlife habitats. A graduate of Appalachian State University, she combines her academic background in biology with hands-on fieldwork to make a tangible impact on the environment. In addition to her project work, Jessica enjoys mentoring newer staff, sharing her knowledge of field methodologies and environmental permitting processes. Outside of work, Jessica is an avid hiker and kayaker, enjoying Florida’s rich natural beauty, and loves experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
