UTC Slated for High End Luxury
The Mall at University Town Center is slated for an October 2014 opening, and we're starting to get a glimpse of the types of stores that will be making UTC their home. The theme appears to be high-end luxury, which is fitting as this is only the second mall to be in any phase of construction in the whole of the United States since 2012. Mall developers have already secured more upscale eateries which would include restaurants like Seasons 52 and Brio Tuscan Grille. Within the mall itself, a list of tentative retailers includes: Saks Fifth Avenue, Anthropologie, Tiffany's & Co., Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Micheal Kors, Kate Spade, the Apple Store, Lilly Pulitzer, H&M, Brooks Brothers, Pottery Barn and William & Sonoma; among many others. Most of the retailers will be ending their leases with the Westfield Group in order to sign on with UTC. The goal is to bring high-end retail to the Southwest Florida area, as there isn't anything similar to it between Tampa and Miami. The $315 Million mall will be one of a kind, and will not only bring numerous jobs to the area, but it will put Sarasota-Bradenton on the map.
